Gibsons G401 Wooden Chess Set with 3" King

Having previously ordered a much cheaper chess set from a different company and been very disappointed with the quality I was very pleased with the quality and size of the pieces. Although quite expensive it was worth the money. A full size board that is easy to store in the case with the chess pieces. A pleasure to use.

Product is an excellent design and quality is good however the pictures on Amazon were a little misleading and I didn't pick up on the fact it was a folding chess board. Weve kept the product as all other aspects of it were so good and when the board is open it is barely noticeable that it is hinged but it was disappointing that this detail was not more obvious to purchasers of this item as it had been more easily identified on other similar merchandise.

Lovely set, nicely made and good quality. Nicely weighted. Only down side is all the pieces in a Bag, not placed so can be slightly difficult to align pieces and board in Box to allow it to close but that is very minor. It would have been nicer if they had included draught pieces too in the set.

The chess set is good quality and good value with good finish

This is a really good buy, it's not cheap but a very good investment, it will last for years and you and your family and friends will get a lot of fun and entertainment from it. It is also very attractive on the coffee table!

Wooden Chess set with 3" King Sadly, as experienced by another buyer, an otherwise well manufactured 'toy' was spoiled by poor quality control. In my case the board was conspicuously damaged on the edge and top inlay border. This item was a lifetime gift to a grandchild to remember his grandparents and should have been perfect. The damage is immediately seen when then game is set up...very disappointing for the givers.Terry Clarke

It's not the cheapest set. The quality of the board and prices is great. The quality of the faux leather box isn't impressive and I don't think I'd trust the handle but apart from that I really lovely traditional chess set.

Perfecto. Impresionado. Las piezas, color, tacto, tallado, proporción, igual que el tablero y el maletín. Una pasada. Recomendable 100%. Ideal para uno mismo o para regalar, no fallarás.

Produit conforme à mes attentes:- Les pièces sont de très bonne facture,- La mallette est superbe et rend encore mieux que sur les photos,- Le plateau est très correct même si j'aurais préféré qu'il soit verni.Je recommande ce produit sans réserve.

Une belle qualité tant pour l'échiquier que les pièces ou la mallette.Les pièces sont bien dessinées, feutrées et plombées ; l'échiquier est de belle qualité même si pas numéroté.La mallette est de belle facture, les éléments sont faciles à ranger.

El producto es correcto excepto un caballo que llegó con un defecto: le falta el globo ocular. He visto en amazon.com que otros usuarios han tenido problemas similares.El estuche cumple, tiene 3 compartimentos de los cuales sobra uno. Podría haber sido mas pequeño (menos alto). Como curiosidad: el color de las piezas negras es "cafe con leche", mas claro de lo que parece en la foto. El color de las piezas blancas y del tablero es agradable.Las piezas tienen un peso perfecto y tamaño adecuado a los escaques. El tablero es austero, sin biseles ni grabados, y transmite buena sensación.Le daría 5 estrellas si el caballo "tuerto" hubiera estado bien (mas un problema de control de calidad, porque hay que fijarse).
