Got just the remote piece to try out. Effortlessly paired with my basic Solidcom C1 Master headset. Just press and hold button A for pairing until their indicator lights stop flashing and they are good to go. Here’s what you need to know and my first impressions after a short testing. Package presentation wise, looked good. Came in a white “Apple/Mac-like’ box with red trim, and safely secured in foam. Had all the same kit stuff like the basic C1, with additional headpad: - headset - spare ear and mouthpiece foam - pleather earcup - 2x batteries - manual and warranty - (bonus) pleather headpad Similar in design, but now with the addition of a mute/PTT button, a small speaker by the side(for noise cancellation) and a switch at the mouthpiece for ENC(Electronic Noise Cancellation). The brown pleather trim on the headset is a nice touch, and easily differentiates the Pro from the basic C1. ENC worked well, especially when the environment gets windy. Wind draft may still be present but, is well muted and makes for much clearer communication in the field. Like the basic C1, moving the mouthpiece up will mute the mic but I can now also mute it with the added button and not have to keep swinging the mic up and down. The PPT function is especially useful when the environment gets really noisy and you need full control of the delivery of instructions. Works just like a walkie-talkie, where you press to speak only when needed to, keeping your other conversations private (Eg. Speaking with a client face to face, and concurrently sending instructions to team members when needed). Overall a well thought out design, and does an impressive job of providing clear communication out on the field. Pricey, but definitely a recommended tool for media production teams out on the field.

Let me start by saying I have been a big fan of the original Solidcom's which I have owned for around a year now. They've always been fantastic on set, and let us communicate at much lower volumes compared to say 'Eartecs' which you have to speak very loudly into. Being able to whisper to each other during quiet takes is so invaluable. I was expecting the Pro version to be similar in that it would be great for loud environments but not suitable for talking quietly, however, I was very wrong. I pushed them to their limit by literally putting one next to a vacuum cleaner and having my friend speak to me at different volumes while I was in the other room. Not only does the voice come through extremely clear at low volumes, but the ANC almost entirely killed the vacuum noise. Hollyland also did such a simple thing that I would not have expected, which is give you a switch on the mic that lets you turn off the ANC if you don't need it. In this sense you are almost getting two different headsets in one. Combine that with the option to do a button PTT alongside the traditional mic up/mic down method and you can now choose whatever style fits you best. I think my only two critiques of these headsets is that I think they could have made the battery larger. It does last longer than advertised in my experience, the website claims 5 hours for the master headset, but I tend to see 6-7 hours before the low battery indicator comes on. The batteries are so compact and light though I'd love to see a higher capacity option down the line that could last 13-14 hours which would eliminate the need to change them at all during a day of shooting. The final critique is that the Pro models don't give you the same 'click' feedback when you pull the mic down into talk mode like the original C1s, and I miss that because it's a nice audio cue to let you know it's activated. This is something that could probably be addressed via firmware though so if it changes I'll amend the review. Overall these are by far the best headsets I've ever used, including ones that use attached packs and basestations. For me the ultimate sell is the crystal clear audio at any voice level, and the amazing noise cancellation that doesn't degrade the vocal clarity. 5/5 would recommend
